MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD SPECIAL MEETING held Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the DeWitt Community Center, 200 N Cherry, DeWitt, NE Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Weise and Workman Absent: Wattjes Also present: Utility Maintenance – Kyle Meers, Clerk - Moria Holly, and Josi Remmers Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. 1. Community Center Projects/Upgrades The Village Board met at the DeWitt Community Center to discuss possible projects and improvements to upgrade the center. Options discussed were expanding the kitchen area with possible new cabinets and appliances, additions to the south for storage and possible washroom, and to the east for a possible bar area, new windows, upgrade florescent lighting, awning over the outside seating on the west side, new metal on outside of building, adding winches to basketball hoops, and possible replacing of some or all of the wood paneling. The Village Board agreed to proceed with having designs/plans drawn up for contractors to bid on the proposed project. The Village Clerk is continuing to work with SENDD to apply for grant money at the beginning of 2025 to help fund the improvements. Adjournment at 6:41 P.M. with no further business, all in favor.
