MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler and Workman Absent: Weise Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Zach Schuerman, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, Senior Center – Melissa Larmeu, Park Board – Bobbie Scherling and Ray Brown, and Saline County Deputy Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Senior Center – Center Updates/Improvements; discussion of possible improvements/updates; motion and second to pay the quarterly financial support in September due to grant funds that need disbursed. 3. Park Board – Swing Replacement Estimate; discussion of possible improvements/updates to pool house and parks; agreed to replace $1,000.00 worth of swings and to apply for grants for additional improvements. 4. Bobbie Scherling – Community Center VB Net Estimate; postponed this item until the October Board Meeting. 5. Lawn Mower Estimates – ExMark and Grasshopper; postponed this item until a later meeting. 6. NDOT Certification and Resolution 2025-04; Compliance; motion and second to approve, adopt and sign Resolution 2025-04 and the Certification. Discussions: The Saline County Deputy presented their monthly call report and stated that everything was going well within the Village. The issue of young children driving around town on golf carts was also discussed with the Deputy. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, discussed with the Village Board that the Wastewater Treatment Plant work continues, controls for Well #3 are in need of repair, continued cleaning at the Village Shop, and after discussion with Norris, the Village’s surplus of transformers will be stored in the locked fenced area of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will free up some storage at the Village Shop. Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented her Clerk Report consisting of sales tax collected and upcoming meetings scheduled for the Village Budget hearing. Adjournment at 8:24 P.M. with no further business, all in favor.
