MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Kyle Meers, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, JEO Engineering – Kyle Otto, Park Board – Bobbie Scherling, Ray Brown, Josi Remmers, Cari Buss; Jason Pohlmann, and Rachel Kreikemeier Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. JEO – Review and Approval of Group A and Group B with Alternate Bids for the Wastewater System Improvements; motion and second to approve the Group A bid as submitted by Judds Bros Construction in the amount of $3,490,000.00 and the Group B with Alternate bid as submitted by Johnson Service Company in the amount of $188,564.00 with an alternate of $22,788.00. 3. JEO – Review and Issue Notice of Award for Group A and also Group B with Alternate for the Wastewater System Improvements; motion and second to award and sign Notice of Award for Group A to Judds Bros Construction in the amount of $3,490,000.00 and award and sign Notice of Award for Group B with Alternate to Johnson Service Company in the amount of $188,564.00 with alternate of $22,788.00. 4. Park Board – Grant Options; Rachel Kreikemeier discussed possible grant options for the Village parks and pools. Motion and second to approve the Village installing a new diving board at the Village Swimming Pool. 5. NeRWA – Appreciation Donation; motion and second to approve and proceed with $1,000.00 donation to the Nebraska Rural Water Association. Discussions: The Saline County Deputy presented their monthly call report and stated that everything was going well within the Village. Jason Pohlmann addressed the Village Board on behalf of the Ball Board to inform them that the cleanup went well with lots of volunteers. He also discussed painting the concession stand at the ball field. This issue will be on the next meeting agenda. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, presented to the Village Board his monthly report regarding sewer repair at the ballfield, rock was delivered for the ball field, smoke testing in the area of the factory went well with the main issue being cleanouts that need capped to prevent rain water from going down them, having some issues with getting parts for the park slide at the ballfield, many of the old red totes have been donated, Sargent Drilling did efficiency tests on wells and the matter of hiring one or two people for summer help which will be added to the May Board Meeting agenda. The Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented to the Village Board a Clerk report consisting of Mihm property demolition update, Community Center grant denial, nuisance properties, and sales tax received.
