WILBER CARE CENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING NOVEMBER 20, 2023 PRESENT Chris Linhart Scott Albert Greg Hasenohr Joyce Wusk Stephanie Hroch OTHERS PRESENT: Nicole Lane--Administrator Missie Bramhall—Office Manager Allison Suden— HR Coordinator Matt Ross--RHD The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm by President, Chris Linhart, at the Wilber Care Center. It was noted that the Open Meeting Act is posted. The minutes from the September 18, 2023, board meeting was signed. A motion was made and approved to review the October 2023 minutes at the next board meeting. The General financials were discussed and approved by Stephanie Hroch and seconded by Greg Hasenohr. The Expense Section was reviewed and approved by Greg Hasenohr and seconded by Scott Albert. Expenses: Nicole Lane discussed the October expenses. Some expenses were higher due to supplies for Dietary. Nicole spoke on changes to insurance prices for the facility. The monthly check register was presented, and discussion was held addressing questions. Expenses decreased but remained high due to general inflation. Revenue: Nicole Lane discussed October 2023 revenue. Medicare days were down, and Medicaid was up. Medicare collected previously paid revenue due to audits. Open Position: Nicole Lane stated nursing has an open DON position, Wilber currently has an interim DON. The housekeeping department has a full-time position open. The Activities assistant position has been filled. Agency use remains high but has continued to decrease over the past several months. Census: Census has remained steady. Aging of Accounts: Medicare and Medicaid continue to pay on old claims. Collection of private pay/share of cost has continued to improve. With corrections to the billing procedures and streamlining the billing system, we expect to see improvements for past and future AR. Staffing/Overtime: We are seeing slightly higher numbers of overtime as we continue to make attempts to reduce the use of agency workers. Old Business: Current open positions were discussed. PTO conversion and handbook updates to resume. Medicare, Medicaid and PBJ audits complete. CD Interest: CD maturity schedule reviewed. ERC: Applications have slowed down due to high fraud. New Business 5 Star rating: Remains a 5. Resident Thanksgiving went well. Referral sign-on bonus conversion to industry standards. Superb has signed on for talent pool labor and is actively recruiting for Wilber. Therapy is still seeking a fulltime person for OT/PT. Nicole is still looking into a restorative program. RHD Update Matt Ross spoke on industry updates and new CMS mandates. The next board meeting will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 5:30 pm.
