VILLAGE OF SWANTON P.O. BOX 23 SWANTON, NEBRASKA. 68445 MARCH 13, 2023 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 13th day of March, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Runty called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by Runty, Strouf, Likens, Placek, and Bass. Donna Rut, Village Clerk also attending. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. The claims, treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to approve the treasurer’s report and minutes and to pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with all members voting aye. The Saline County Deputy gave the monthly sheriff’s report. Trustee Strouf reported that the Freightliner 2023 chassis is at Danko Emergency Equipment. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Placek to pay Danko Emergency Equipment $102,232.00 for the chassis. Motion carried with Runty, Strouf, Likens, Placek, and Bass voting aye. Discussion was held on garbage rates and nuisance properties. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Likens to have the Village Attorney send letters to two properties for cleanup. Motion carried with all members voting aye. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Likens to send Saline County Area Transit a letter of committed support. Motion carried with all members voting aye. Donna Rut, Clerk reported that the audit waiver has been approved.
