VILLAGE OF SWANTON P.O. BOX 23 SWANTON, NEBRASKA. 68445 JANUARY 15, 2024 A regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 15th day of January, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Vice Chairman Strouf called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by Strouf, Placek and Bass. Runty and Likens absent. Also attending was Donna Rut, Village Clerk, Alan Krupicka, Water Operator, and Tyler Doane with JEO Consulting Group. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Tyler Doane with JEO Consulting Group went over the contract for the new well project with the board. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Bass to sign the Engineer Agreement with JEO Consulting Group. Motion carried with Strouf, Placek, and Bass voting aye. Runty and Likens absent. The claims, Treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Placek to approve the Treasurer’s report and minutes and to pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Placek to approve Matt Fort as a volunteer fireman. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Discussion on the Co-op water meter, garbage contract, water meter reader, water deposit, and quote from Hein Construction of street repairs was held. Water Operator Alan Krupicka gave his monthly water report. As there was no further business, a motion was made by Placek and seconded by Bass to adjourn.
