This is a synopsis of the Saline County Board of Commissioners’ January 23th, 2024, regular meeting proceedings. A complete set of the proceedings is on file in the Board of Commissioners’ Journal is of public record in the Saline County Clerk’s office and on our website: www.co.saline.ne.us SALINE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The regular meeting of the Saline County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:37 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, by Chairperson Phil Hardenburger. Present were Hardenburger, Janet J. Henning, Russ Karpisek and Marvin A. Kohout Commissioners, County Clerk Diann Nettifee and County Attorney David Solheim. Commissioner Stephanie A. Krivohlavek was absent. Notice of said meeting was posted in the County Clerk’s Office and published in all three county newspapers on January 17, 2024, in compliance with State Statutes; Hardenburger advised those present of the open meetings act at the back of the room and that all proceedings are electronically recorded; Approved Agenda; Approved minutes of the previous meeting; Under Citizen Forum; No Citizen spoke; Correspondence; Blue River Arts Council thanked the Board and Visitor’s Committee for the $1,200 grant they used for IT and security services, Blue Valley Behavioral Health thanked the Board for their continued financial support and dedication to the people of Saline County; Letter from NIRMA with 3 checks in the amount of $1,775.00 towards the cost of a sign post puller, battery powered chainsaw, and three pair of steel toed boots for the Roads Department. Will be attending the Seward/Saline County Solid Waste and Wellness meeting next week; Commissioner Henning; Attended January 18th Public Health Solutions meeting and has a CASA meeting next week; Commissioner Hardenburger; Ag Society meeting, Extension Board meeting tomorrow. Numerous calls with John McKee with Disaster Declaration and other snowstorm issues; Business for Action; Discussion the need for encrypted emails for the Assessor’s office, Assessor will get more information and bring back to the Board; Approved Resolution #2024-02 to sell certain real estate to another political subdivision, Friend Volunteer Fire Department; Approved signing and sending a letter of support for NextLink to provide internet service near Pleasant Hill, NE;
