Stanley J. Zoubek, 71 years of age, of Tobias, passed away at the Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln on Friday, April 14, 2023.

He was born Sept. 6, 1951, in Fairbury to Ernest and Rose (Sasek) Zoubek. He attended country school at Swan Valley #106 near the farm that he was raised on, and was a 1969 graduate of Wilber-Clatonia High School. While in high school, Stan was active in the FFA Chapter. Stan and Bonita Miller were married Jan. 4, 1974. Stanley farmed and raised hogs with his father, Ernest, until retiring in 1998, then worked for several hog producing entities including Schweitzers, Waldo Farms, Lichti Farms and the Plymouth Ag Group. He had been a member and past president of the Saline County Pork Producers and was member and past vice president of the Nebraska State Pork Producers.

Stan was an avid life-long hunter and fisherman, enjoyed gardening, raising gladiolus and iris, attending Memorial Day services and Memorial Day camping weekends on the lake, playing cards (to win), canoeing, wiffleball and going to coffee with friends in Western and Tobias. He enjoyed going to NASCAR and stockcar races and Husker football and basketball games. He also loved helping with state and Saline County 4-H and Aksarben. Most of all, he enjoyed supporting his family and attending all their events.

Survivors include his wife, Bonita; children, Quentin (Debra) Zoubek of Alexandra and their children, Tristin, Breanna, Cheyanna, Deric and Aiden, Angela (Nathan) Mosier of West Lafayette, Indiana, and their children, Rose, Devaney and Braden Joe, and Dale (Tina) Zoubek of Fontenelle, Iowa, and their children, Haisley, Rowan Stanley, Allie, Bridget; eight great-grandchildren; mother, Rose Zoubek; brother, Gary (Pam) Zoubek of York; sisters, Nancy Kratochvil of Swanton, Mary (Kelly) Homolka of Wilber, Kathy (Jim) Mammen of Western, and Vicky (Tom) Culver of Lincoln; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; parents-in-law, Lloyd and Birdie Miller; and brothers-in-law, Rich Kratochvil, Marvin Eads and Harold Eads.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the United St. John’s Church of Christ in Western. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Saline County 4-H and Wilber-Clatonia FFA, with the funeral home in charge. Arrangements by Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice.
