Debra Sue Krivan, affectionately known as Debbie or Deb, was born Aug. 14, 1955, in Beatrice.

A thoughtful, generous, loyal, and supportive woman, Debra carried these qualities throughout her life, touching the hearts of many. She spent most of her life in DeWitt, where she was not only a cherished resident but an integral part of the community. Debra was a devoted wife to Roger Krivan, whom she married on May 31, 1986. Her life was a radiant testament of love, kindness, and generosity, which will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her professional life, Debra served diligently working at American Tool in DeWitt until her retirement in 2008. Her dedication was always evident, whether it was in her work or her hobbies. Debra had a knack for making things beautiful. She enjoyed decorating, especially during Christmas and Halloween, and her artistic flair was recognized when she was entrusted with decorating the vice grip museum window every season for the town and organizing the 4th of July parade float for American Tool. Debra also found joy in flowers, birdwatching, crafting, painting, collecting antiques, and even simple pleasures like getting her nails done and taking long naps.

What mattered most to Debra were the relationships she nurtured. She is survived by her beloved husband, Roger Krivan; her daughter, Kerry and her husband, Brian Baker; her stepdaughter, Tiffany and her husband, Nick Paonessa; her grandchildren, Deitrick, Zander, Lexand and Drake; her sister, Barb Lottman; and her spoiled kitty, Kiki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorene (Eitzen) and Leo Bergmeier.

A visitation will be Friday, April 19 from 1 – 8 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in DeWitt. The family will greet friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the same venue. A family prayer service will be held at the church Saturday, April 20, at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10 a.m. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge.

Debra's life was a beautiful journey, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. We invite you to share your fondest memories of Debra and upload photos to her memorial page. Let us remember Debra not for her departure but for the love, joy, and laughter she brought into our lives. Arrangements by Venrick-Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in DeWitt.
