Robert E. Holroyd, age 83, of Wilber, died Dec. 15, 2023, at Tabitha in Crete.
He was born Sept. 22, 1940, near Friend to Harold and Lola (Miller) Holroyd. Bob graduated from Crete High School in 1958. He was employed at the Crete Mills since the fall of 1958, and worked there for 46 years. During his time there, he served as union president and was instrumental in implementing the pension plan.
On Oct. 22, 1961, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Judy Richardson. Bob was a member of the board of educatiion of Wilber-Clationa Schools. He also farmed in his spare time. He was a member of the Armistice Club, enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing cards. He loved to follow and attend his grandchildren’s activities. He dearly loved his 1934 Ford pickup truck that he recently had restored. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Judy; son and daughter in law, G. Scott and Helen Holroyd; daughter and son in law, Patti and Harley Schuerman, all of Wilber; grandchildren and spouses, Ashley and Aaron Adams of Lincoln, Hayden Schuerman and fiancé Melissa Schorr of Omaha, Sami and Nathan Vesely of Wilber, Kacey Holroyd and Nick Janssen of Auburn, Kiley Schuerman and fiancé Ryan Nelson of Garland, and Miranda Truka and fiancé Weston Edmond of Clatonia; great-grandchildren, Carter, Elsie, and Colton Adams, Arlo and Adler Vesley, Kenna Janssen; sister-in-law and spouse, Deb and Fred Turman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lola; and brother, Ronald.
The funeral service was Dec. 19. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Wilber Fire Department & Rescue Squad. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
