Norma Chloe (Lindsey) Jiskra died April 26, 2023, at Wilber. 

She was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Nebraska City to Delbert and Faye Lindsey of Union. She grew up on the farm of her parents, west of Union, where she attended grade school at the nearby country school and high school in Nehawka. Norma attended two years of college at UNL, living in the Love Hall dorm.  She met her future husband, Richard Jiskra, while at UNL.  They were married June 20, 1954, and they had an extended honeymoon in Italy, where Richard was stationed with the Army. 

From there, they resided in Beatrice, Hebron, Broken Bow and remaining years on the family farm near Swanton.  Norma was active with the Swanton Methodist Church and loved being in the outdoors, her flowers, she was a voracious reader of history, and loved her pets, namely her cats. She worked for the Swanton Grocery, Petersen Manufacturing in DeWitt and First Tri County Bank in Swanton. 

Norma is survived by her children, Becky (Jerry) Pearson of Genoa, Chris (Bill) Schwan of DeWitt and Doug (Diane) Jiskra of Swanton; grandchildren, Peter (Belinda) Pearson of Omaha, Andy (Jocelyn) Pearson of Omaha, Tom Pearson of St. Paul, Minnesota, Matt (Jill) Pearson of Columbus, Lindsey (Brandon) Hofstetter of Cortland, Heather (Dillon) Baker of Syracuse, Megan (Bryce) Horak of Western, Jake (Shaylin) Jiskra of Swanton, and Shane Jiskra and special friend Maggie Roseland of DeWitt; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister in law, Beverly Gish. Norma is preceded in death by her, husband, Richard Jiskra; her parents; infant brother, Dale; brother, Fred Lindsey; her in-laws, Ben and Ruth Jiskra; and brother-in-law, Larry Gish.

Visitation will be Friday, May 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kuncl Funeral Home in Wilber. The graveside service will be Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at the Swanton Cemetery. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home.
