MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD Regular Meeting held Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Wattjes, Weise and Workman Absent: None. Also present: Clerk - Moria Holly, Eric Teegerstrom with Midwest Assistance Program, and Tom Bliss – SENDD Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda Discussions: The Village Board explained to the Tom Bliss and Eric Teegerstrom that the need for an income survey is due to the Wastewater Treatment Plant rehabilitation project. The results from the income survey may have an impact on the funding the Village would receive from the State. Tom Bliss with SENDD addressed the Board regarding different income and community surveys, and other services regarding grant funds that they provide. Several example surveys were presented to the Board for their review. Eric Teegerstrom with Midwest Assistance Program then addressed the Village Board offering his services in regard to the income survey and presented to the Board an example of an income survey as well. After discussion with Mr. Bliss and Mr. Teegerstrom the Village Board agreed to proceed with completing a Median Household Income survey and community survey with coding through SENDD. A survey will be drafted for Board approval and prior notice will also be given to the public. Roni Baehr was unable to the attend the meeting therefore; the issue has been postponed until a later date. The Board discussed the duties of the Utility Superintendent and Water/Wastewater Operator and reviewed the applications submitted to-date. Trustee Workman discussed with the Board regarding keeping the Community Center better updated and maintained. She suggested that she assemble a committee to help determine needed repairs, updates and maintenance. The Village Clerk presented her report which consisted of monthly sales tax, updates on demolition of nuisance properties and water tower, clerk school and job applications received. Adjournment at 8:44 P.M. with no further business, all in favor.
