MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Wattjes, Weise and Workman Absent - None Also present: Future Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Clerk – Moria Holly, Black Hills Energy – Jennifer Peters and Kevin Dugan, and Civic Board – Glen Pieper Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda 2. Civic Board – DeWitt Days Celebration; Fireworks & Bounce Houses 3. Ordinance 783 – Black Hills Franchise Fee 4. Ordinance 784 – Black Hills Franchise Agreement 5. Sealed Bids – Sale of Village Properties 6. Ordinance 781 – Sale of Village Properties 7. Ordinance 782 – Utility Superintendent Salaries 8. Animal Control Services Agreement 9. Principal Life – Short Term Disability Proposal 10. Employee Handbook Discussions: The Village Clerk discussed with the Village Board postponing the July Regular Board Meeting. Currently, the Regular Board Meeting would be held on Tuesday, July 4th. The Village Board agreed to postpone the July Regular Board Meeting until Tuesday, July 11th. The Village Board had a brief discussion regarding the Lease Agreement Fee for the Norris Lease Agreement of the Village’s electrical system before the town hall meeting scheduled for June 8th. The Board agreed that if the Village does proceed with the Lease Agreement, the fee would be set at 12%. Saline County Deputy presented to the Village Board their monthly reports and stated that everything has been good and quiet in the area. Sonja Workman reported to the Village Board an update on the outside improvements for the Community Center. Fire Chief Shawn Weise informed the Village Board that the new fire truck has been equipped and has been utilized on a few calls. The new ambulance previously ordered is still waiting for the chassis to be constructed. Weise also stated that the Fire Department will be burning the house located at 210 W York the morning of Sunday, June 11th. Village Clerk Moria Holly presented to the Village Board her report consisting of updates regarding nuisance properties, roof replacements, and Village employee benefits. The Village Clerk also addressed the Village Board regarding preparation for Town Hall Meeting regarding the Norris Lease scheduled for Thursday, June 8th.
