MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Wattjes, and Workman Absent - Weise Also present: Mitch McDougall, Hunter Oliver, Brent Rahe, Moria Holly, Ray Brown and Bobbie Scherling with Park Board Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda 2. Salaries/Wages – Superintendent/Operator 3. Ordinance 785 – Employee Salaries and Wages 4. JEO – WWTP Survey/Lagoon Option 5 Ameritas – Deferred Compensation Plan Update 6. LIGHT Health Insurance Quote/Comparison Discussions: Ray Brown and Bobbie Scherling with the Village Park Board addressed the Board regarding repairs needed at the Village pool. The repairs include new pool stairs, mud jacking, repainting the pool and acquiring new chairs and loungers by next season. The Village Board agreed with the repairs and requested estimates for the new stairs, mud jacking and painting. Bobbie also discussed that the pool has been operating well this year and have received no complaints. Utility Superintendent, Mitch McDougall addressed the Board regarding new hire, Hunter Oliver, taking the initiative in trimming several trees and they have been working intently on mowing and street sweeping. Mitch also stated the Wastewater Treatment Plant has been having several issues and the Village may have to hire a contractor to haul sludge is the issues are not able to rectified. Mitch is also in the process of review and amending the preliminary water and sewer maps submitted by JEO Engineering and believes the mapping will be a large benefit to current and new employees of the Village. Village Clerk Moria Holly presented to the Village Board her report consisting of updates regarding nuisance properties, Norris lease proposed start date, income surveys, rental of farm ground, custodial position, sales tax, and question of dumpsters in residential areas.
