Jerry Joe Filipi, Jr., of Crete, passed away March 14, 2024, at the age of 85 years.

Jerry was the son of Jerry and Olga (Roit) Filipi of Western. He was a 1957 graduate from Western High School. After high school, Jerry enlisted in the Army National Guard. He was united in marriage to Clarice Bouwens on Feb. 10, 1961, and the couple made their home in Western and later moved to Wilber and then to rural Crete. Jerry farmed, drove a semi and worked at Nestle Purina until retirement. He loved to go to the farms, running his tractor and caterpillar to work the land. He enjoyed his family, friends and polka music.

He is survived by sons, Timothy Filipi and Curtis Filipi and Lori Wentz; grandson, Justin Filipi; and sister, Orma Filipi Tyser and husband Don.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarice Filipi; son, Tom Filipi; and his parents.

Private family services were held to honor Jerry's request. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to all their family, relatives and friends that he knew. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
