Gary "Fuji" Richtarik, born July 22, 1951, died at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln on Nov. 15, 2020, after a short battle with COVID-19.

He was born to Fred and Mildred (Beck) Richtarik. His family resided on a farm near Wilber. Gary attended Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools. He graduated from high school in 1969. Gary farmed and worked at Peterson Manufacturing and later worked for Bunge Milling for 49 years as a forklift operator/warehouseman. He retired from Bunge on Jan. 10, 2020, and looked forward to retirement. Gary loved fireworks and volunteered to manage the Wilber Lions Fireworks Stand for many years. Gary was also a member of the Wilber United Methodist Church. Gary also enjoyed making a garden, driving his tractors and his 1969 Roadrunner. Gary was known by many and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Richtarik, and mother, Mildred Richtarik; nephew, Bradley Frahm; and father-in-law, William Ficke. His survivors include his wife of 32 years, Karen of Wilber; son, Chris Richtarik and fiancée Jessica Rosno of Lincoln; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ron Kobes of DeWitt; sister and brother-in-law, Selma and Perry Frahm of Crete; mother-in-law, Gloria Ficke of Crete; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Rebecca Ficke of Cedar Park, Texas; aunts and uncles, Alice and Milo Rejcha of Crete and Lincoln, Jean and Gaylen Ahlquist of Stromsburg, Wayne Burbank of Clive, Iowa; and former sister-in-law, Angela Greenlee of Cedar Park; numerous nieces and nephews; a great-niece and a host of friends.
