Rocky Mountain oysters defy culinary expectations

Rocky Mountain oysters returned to Crete on March 28 at Veterans and Friends. Despite their name, these unique morsels are not harvested from the sea but rather sourced from bulls, specifically their testicles.
Despite their unconventional origins, Rocky Mountain oysters have gained a dedicated following at Veterans and Friends and spark some lively culinary discussions. To add to the ambiance a rodeo aired on the TV at the corner of the bar.
At Veterans and Friends in Crete the oysters are breaded and deep-fried, offering a distinctive flavor and chewy texture for adventurous eaters. Served hot, they are accompanied by ranch dipping sauce and can be either a bold appetizer or as part of a main course.
