Eugene Charles Muff, Jr., of Crete was born May 26, 1974, to Eugene, Sr., and Theo (Witter) Muff, the youngest of seven children, and passed away March 9, 2024, with his family at his side, after a long battle with Lupus.
Gene attended Crete Public Schools. He spent most of his time woodworking, drawing, painting, listening to the Huskers and had a strong viewpoint on politics. He held his unique sense of humor until the very end, trying to put a smile on everyone's faces, after all he was “headed to Heaven in a dress.” He stressed “no tears” to all his family.
Gene married Krissi Lee on Aug. 22, 2008. He was proud of his three sons, Jacob, Cody and Ted.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Bill and Margaret Muff, Ted and Clara Witter; and his father-in-law, Donivan "Big Red" Lee. He is survived by his wife, Krissi of Crete; sons, Jacob Kotas and Cody Kotas of Lincoln, and Ted Muff of Crete; brother, Andy Muff and Bev Eckel of Wilber; sisters, Joanne (Paul) Puckett of Wakefield, Diane (Bill) Wieskamp of Firth, Judy (Sheldon) Kohout of Friend, Beth (Doug) Horak of Western, and Helen (Scott) Holroyd of Wilber; mother-in-law, Linda Lee of Crete; sister-in-law, Jessica (Trevis) Trautman of Crete; brother-in-law, Ryan (Chelsea) Lee of Crete; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at the Kramer Hall in Kramer. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the family and can be sent to Helen Holroyd, 1348 County Road 2350, Wilber, NE 68465 to be used at a later date.
