It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Donna Bryan, on Sept. 28, 2024 at the age of 96. She was a resident of Lincoln and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Born Dec. 27, 1927, in Wilber, Donna was the daughter of Elmer and Alma Apfelbeck nee Vosika. She grew up in Wilber, where she learned to play the piano, enjoyed tap dancing and performing in school plays, and participated in bond drives during World War II.

She was a loving mother to Steve and Rick. Professionally, she worked as a secretary at Norden Labs and later at UN-L in the Agronomy Department, East Campu,s where she was known for her work ethic and dedication.

In her spare time, Donna enjoyed several hobbies, such as reading mystery novels, playing cards in her bridge club and other card games with family. She was an active member of the Doe’s Club for many years. Donna also enjoyed quilting and won several prizes at the Lancaster County Fair. She liked art and enjoyed painting, also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

Donna touched the lives of many and her memory will live on through her family and friends who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us, the love she shared will forever remain in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that she is at peace.

She is survived by her children, Steve Bryan (spouse Lorene) and Rick Bryan; and her siblings, Shirley Kudlacek, Joy Kemper, Jean Logsdon (spouse Buck) and Gary Apfelbeck (spouse: Tish).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Apfelbeck and Alma Apfelbeck.
