Ruth A. Wells, 70, of Beatrice, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 24, 2026, at The Grace Space in Lincoln.
She was born April 1, 1956, at Falls City to William and Evelyn (Gruber) Auxier. Ruth graduated from Dawson-Verdon High School in 1974 and attended Doane College and Fairbury Junior College. On Feb. 14, 1976, she married Greg Wells at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Ruth was a Mary Kay Sales Director for 43 years. During her career, she earned numerous awards, including two pink Cadillacs, fur coats, and jewelry.
She also owned and operated Hackberry Bed & Breakfast for five years. She attended Christ Community Church in Beatrice and held an office in the Falls City Reavis-Ashley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ruth enjoyed swimming, biking, traveling, and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Greg Wells of Beatrice; daughter, April (Paul) Barnes of Lincoln; brother, David (Mary) Auxier of Dawson; brother-in-law, Mark (Deb) Wells of Plymouth; sister-in-law, Pamela Hoge of Plymouth; grand dog, Clara; nieces and nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Auxier; and parents-in-law, Arthur and Alverta Wells.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Christ Community Church with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasantview Cemetery, rural Pickrell. Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home in Beatrice with the family greeting relatives and friends on Thursday from 5:30 – 7 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family for future designation.
