Darlene Joy (Hoffman) Brydl was born June 6, 1932, and was raised in Wilber.

She spent the rest of her life in Lincoln. She married Mel Brydl and they had three daughters. Darlene enjoyed traveling, flower gardening and watching sports. Mel and Darlene’s friends will remember spending evenings together grilling, playing cards and playing marble board games. Darlene was always there for her family. Their fondest forever memories of her include making homemade ice cream, attending Wilber Czech Days and her love of all things black-and-white. These and more memories of Darlene are saved in the pages of the many scrapbooks that she has put together over the years. Darlene passed away in her sleep at the age of 91 and is interred in the Mausoleum at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery near her husband, Mel, and daughter, Wendy.

She is survived by her sister, Roberta Ourecky; daughters Sherry Brink and Lori Anderson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 5  - 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., in Lincoln.
