VILLAGE OF TOBIAS P.O. BOX 94 TOBIAS, NEBRASKA 68453 May 5, 2026 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tobias, Nebraska was held at the Tobias Fire Hall in said Village on the 5th day of May 2026. Present were Chairman Dick, Trustees Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce. Wolfe was absent. The Village Clerk was also present. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Dick called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. Public comments: Community Club requested permission to store holiday decorations in the old library. Board agreed. Water Operator Report: Two new Lift Station pumps were installed. Water pipes were replaced along Pine and Ash streets. Previous minutes were reviewed. Santacroce motioned to approve; Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Bank statements and Treasurer’s Report were presented. Dick motioned to approve all claims; Santacroce seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, and Schafer. no nay votes. Baxa abstained. New Flags have been installed on the Boulevard. Disconnect Notices: None Chairman Dick contacted the Village Attorney for assistance with Nuisance abatement procedure. The town of Tobias was cited with a Tree Dump Violation. Discussion took place and procedure will now be that the gates will remain locked. A posted sign will list names/phone numbers of Trustees that have a key, and residents will need to call to have the gates unlocked and load inspected for compliance. This is a second recent violation issued to Tobias with a deadline for removal of non-compliant items. Each day after deadline comes with a $10,000/day fine. Please adhere to the new policy. Street maintenance: Road gravel placed on Pine and Elm streets. Schafer motioned to adjourn, Dick seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Baxa, and Schafer, no nay votes. Meeting adjourned at 8:54pm.
