VILLAGE OF TOBIAS P.O. BOX 94 TOBIAS, NEBRASKA 68453 June 2, 2026 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tobias, Nebraska was held at the Tobias Fire Hall in said Village on the 2nd day of June 2026. Present were Chairman Dick, Trustees Schafer, Baxa, Wolfe, and Santacroce. The Village Clerk was also present. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Dick called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. Public comments: None. Water Operator Report: Alan Krupicka is officially retired as Village Water Operator. Lyle Bartels is the new Village Water Operator. Previous minutes were reviewed. Wolfe motioned to approve; Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Schafer, Baxa, Wolfe, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Bank statements and Treasurer’s Report were presented. Schafer motioned to approve all claims; Santacroce seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, and Schafer. no nay votes. Baxa abstained. Disconnect Notices: None Chairman Dick contacted the Village Attorney for assistance with Nuisance abatement procedure. The town of Tobias was cited with a Tree Dump Violation. Discussion took place and procedure will now be that the gates will remain locked. A posted sign will list names/phone numbers of Trustees that have a key, and residents will need to call to have the gates unlocked and load inspected for compliance. This is a second recent violation issued to Tobias with a deadline for removal of non-compliant items. Each day after deadline comes with up to a $10,000/day fine. Please adhere to the new policy. Keys were disbursed to all Board Members. Actual lock date will take place after final inspection of tree dump being cleared of all non-compliant items. Board discussed obtaining Roll-Offs for Village cleanup. Date of Roll-off delivery to be set at July Board Meeting. Street maintenance: None scheduled for the month of June. Schafer motioned to adjourn, Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Baxa, Wolfe, and Schafer, no nay votes. Meeting adjourned at 8:32pm.
