VILLAGE OF TOBIAS P.O. BOX 94 TOBIAS, NEBRASKA 68453 January 6, 2026 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tobias, Nebraska was held at the Tobias Fire Hall in said Village on the 6th day of January 2026. Present were Chairman Dick, Trustees Baxa, and Santacroce. Trustees Wolfe and Schafer were absent. The Village Clerk was also present. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Dick called the meeting to order at 7:01pm. Public comments: Representatives from the Tobias Community Club were present requesting the Board’s permission to make improvements to the Tobias gym. The Board consented to the improvements to update the gym. Water Operator Report: Interviews with Water Operator applicants took place with all three applicants attending at their appointed time. Santacroce motioned to approve Lyle Bartels as the new Water Operator upon Krupicka’s retirement next spring; Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Previous minutes were reviewed. Baxa motioned to approve; Santacroce seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Bank statements and Treasurer’s Report were presented. Dick motioned to approve all claims; Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, and Baxa; no nay votes. Disconnect Notices: One, now paid. Discussion ensued concerning the 2026 Election and Trustee terms ending. Action on Nuisance Properties continues as Village proceeds with abatement. Property cleanup is going well on a town nuisance property. Santacroce motioned to adjourn, Dick seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, and Baxa; no nay votes. Meeting adjourned at 9:12pm.
