VILLAGE OF TOBIAS P.O. BOX 94 TOBIAS, NEBRASKA 68453 FEBRUARY 4, 2025 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tobias, Nebraska was held at the Tobias Fire Hall in said Village on the 4th day of February, 2025. Present were Chairman Dick, Trustees Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer. Santacroce was absent. The Village Clerk was also present. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Dick called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. Public comments: Lyle Bartals was present to confirm the rental fee on the gym for the Corn hole Tournament. James Burton, Burton Asphalt LLC presented a bid for street repairs. Troy Nielsen, Signal of Lincoln presented an option for Code Enforcement concerning the Nuisance Properties in town. Water Operator Report was given. Water Operator Krupicka was absent but furnished his report to the Board. Water tests were good. Routine Sanitary Survey Report for Tobias was good. A copy of the report was presented to the Board. Previous minutes were reviewed. Wolfe motioned to approve; Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Baxa, Wolfe, and Schafer; no nay votes. Bank statements and Treasurer’s Report were presented. Dick motioned to approve claims 1-12, Wolfe seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Schafer, and Wolfe; no nay votes. Baxa abstained. Wolfe motioned to approve claim 3, Dick seconded, motioned carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, and Baxa; no nay votes. Schafer abstained. Action on Nuisance Properties continues as Village proceeds with abatement. Dick contacted Fire Department on building burn procedure for removal of nuisance raccoons on town property. Letter to be sent to property owner with deadline for personal property removal and date of burn. Dick also spoke with Nuisance Abatement Company for possible assistance in removal of nuisance properties. Two Disconnect Notices were sent and have been since paid. Tobias received Audit Waiver approval. Dick to check into cost for replacing missing street signs. Board approved Clerk Institute Conference for Clerk to attend. Dick motioned for approval, Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Baxa, Wolfe, and Schafer; no nay votes. Dick motioned to adjourn, Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Baxa, Schafer, Dick, and Wolfe; no nay votes. Meeting adjourned at 9:08pm. Next Meeting 3/4/2025.
