VILLAGE OF TOBIAS P.O. BOX 94 TOBIAS, NEBRASKA 68453 AUGUST 5, 2025 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tobias, Nebraska was held at the Tobias Fire Hall in said Village on the 5th day of August, 2025. Present were Chairman Dick, Trustees Schafer, Wolfe, Baxa, and Santacroce. The Village Clerk was also present. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Dick called the meeting to order at 7:29pm. Public comments: None Water Operator Report: Job advertisements will be placed in several local newspapers. Water samples are coming in good as per operator. Previous minutes were reviewed. Wolfe motioned to approve; Santacroce seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Bank statements and Treasurer’s Report were presented. Dick motioned to approve all claims; Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer; no nay votes. Disconnect Notices: Two notices were sent out; both now paid. Action on Nuisance Properties continues as Village proceeds with abatement. Bid for tearing down a nuisance property house has been accepted and work will begin soon. Attorney to send letter giving 30 day deadline for demolition. A new ordinance concerning actions to be taken on abandoned vehicles on nuisance properties has been approved and will be posted after publishing. Baxa purchased several signs in town with additional ones to be ordered. Baxa motioned to approve the renewal of the Double B Bar & Grill Liquor License; Santacroce seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer; no nay votes. Dick motioned to continue discussion of setting the new Tax Levy with the Village Accountant; Wolfe seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer; no nay votes. Santacroce motioned to certify and approve the Annual Certification of Program Compliance & Signing Resolution, Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer; no nay votes.
