VILLAGE OF TOBIAS P.O. BOX 94 TOBIAS, NEBRASKA 68453 April 7, 2026 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tobias, Nebraska was held at the Tobias Fire Hall in said Village on the 7th day of April 2026. Present were Chairman Dick, Trustees Schafer, Wolfe, Baxa, and Santacroce. The Village Clerk was also present. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Dick called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. Public comments: Deanna Brakhage – question on recent water bill. Water Operator Report: Lyle Bartels has passed his Water Operator test and is now Water Operator for the Village of Tobias. Krupicka will temporarily remain as backup for training purposes. As per Krupicka, new pumps are needed at the Lift Stations. Baxa motioned to approve the purchase of the new pumps if not much over $12,000, Santacroce seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Previous minutes were reviewed. Santacroce motioned to approve; Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Bank statements and Treasurer’s Report were presented. Dick motioned to approve all claims; Wolfe seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer. no nay votes. Discussion took place concerning the replacement of the town Flags. Santacroce will order new flags to replace the damaged flags. Dick motioned to approve the 2026 Lane Mile report; Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Disconnect Notices: Three, two now paid, one under discussion. The water bill payment Ordinance will be posted for 30 days and notated on the water bills. The Village Board chose three properties on the Priority List of Nuisance properties to begin abatement proceedings. Chairman Dick contacted the Village Attorney for assistance with procedure. Resolutions 2026-6 and 2026-7 were presented concerning the abatement of two properties. Wolfe motioned to approve 2026-6; Schafer seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Schafer motioned to approve 2026-7; Baxa seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Wolfe, Schafer, Baxa, and Santacroce; no nay votes. Street maintenance will begin on areas of Pine and Elm streets. Schafer motioned to adjourn, Wolfe seconded, motion carried; aye votes Dick, Santacroce, Wolfe, Baxa, and Schafer, no nay votes. Meeting adjourned at 9:19pm.
