VILLAGE OF SWANTON PO BOX 23 SWANTON, NEBRASKA 68445 OCTOBER 13, 2025 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 13th day of October, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Present were: Chairman Runty, Trustees: Strouf, Likens, Placek, and Bass. Donna Rut, Village Clerk also attending the meeting. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. The claims, treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to approve the treasurer’s report and minutes and pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with Runty, Likens, Placek, and Bass voting aye. Strouf abstained. A motion was made by Likens and seconded by Strouf borrow $5,000.00 from the line of credit at First Tri County Bank for the water project. Motion carried with Runty, Strouf, Likens, and Placek voting aye. Bass abstained. Discussion was held on the water project and insurance. The clerk reported that the garbage rate will increase to $22.00 per month October 1st. Lynn Strouf reported on the VFD and the tower inspection.
