VILLAGE OF SWANTON PO BOX 23 SWANTON, NEBRASKA 68445 NOVEMBER 11, 2024 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 11th day of November, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chairman Runty, Trustees: Placek, and Bass. Strouf and Likens absent. Alan Krupicka, Water Operator and Donna Rut, Village Clerk also attending the meeting. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting. A Saline County Deputy presented the monthly sheriff’s report. The claims, treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Placek to approve the treasurer’s report and minutes and to pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf and Likens absent. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Runty to borrow $22,155.00 on the Village credit line for the well project invoice from JEO Consulting Group. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf and Likens absent. Discussion was held on the well project, deeds and title insurance on the well property, letter from the NDEE, water meters, and the siren not working. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Bass to sign the contract with Iowa Pump Works for yearly pump inspection at the lift station. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf and Likens absent. Alan Krupicka, Water Operator gave his monthly water report. Chairman Runty reported that Lindsay Filip will start cleaning the fire hall in November. Trustee Bass reported that Bill Schwisow will move snow this winter. Hein Construction will be contacted to fill the cracks in Nemaha and Clay Streets. As there was no further business, a motion was made by Bass and seconded by Placek to adjourn. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf and Likens absent.
