VILLAGE OF SWANTON PO BOX 23 SWANTON, NEBRASKA 68445 FEBRUARY 10, 2025 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 10th day of February, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chairman Runty, Trustees: Strouf, Likens, and Placek. Bass absent. Donna Rut, Village Clerk also attending the meeting. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. A Saline County Sheriff presented the monthly sheriff’s report. Dave Hermsmeier discussed building a new home and hooking into village sewer. The claims, treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Likens and seconded by Strouf to approve the treasurer’s report and minutes and pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with Runty, Strouf, Likens, and Placek voting aye. Bass absent. Discussion was held on the well project. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to get an advance on the water loan for $2,310.00 for the final cost of the survey and plotting of the well property. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Bass absent. Trustee Strouf reported that the sewer pump has been installed. Ordinance #314: Floodplain Management Ordinance was presented. A motion was made by Strouf and seconded by Likens to suspend the reading of ordinance at three different meetings. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Bass absent. A motion was made by Likens and seconded by Placek to approve Ordinance #314. Motion carried with Runty, Strouf, Likens, and Placek voting aye. Bass absent. The Saline County Tourism grants have been approved. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to have Trustee Strouf purchase 12 tables and 100 chairs for the auditorium with the Saline County Tourism Grant and the Norris Grant. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Bass absent. The audit waiver has been approved. As there was no further business, a motion was made by Strouf and seconded by Likens to adjourn.
