Village of Swanton PO Box 23 Swanton, Nebraska 68445 August 8, 2016 OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska, was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska, on the 8th day of August 2016, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Chairman Runty, Trustees: Strouf, Kujath and Placek. Bass absent. Donna Rut, Village Clerk also attending the meeting. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. Keith Broman with Sargent Drilling explained VFDs and cost for the water system to the board. Penny Miller with the Swanton Community Club asked for permission to plant a tree in the park memory of Alfred Lisec. The board gave their approval. The claims, minutes and treasurer's report were presented. A motion was made by Strouf and seconded by Placek to approve the minutes and treasurer's report and to pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Bass absent. A motion was made by Strouf and seconded by Kujath to sign the Iowa Pump Works agreement. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Strouf to have Matt Strouf trim the trees for the village for around $4,000.00. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. A motion was made by Strouf and seconded by Placek to approve Daykin Lumbers quote of $6,700.00 to put in an approach at the Fire Hall. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. The project will be paid by the Village and the Fire Department. A motion was made by Kujath and seconded by Placek to rent a VFD from Sargent Drilling for the water system during the painting and repairs on the water tower. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. The clerk reported that the Village will receive a water security grant for the 2016-2017 grant period. A motion was made by Strouf and seconded by Placek to have Chairman Runty sign the agreement. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
