VILLAGE OF SWANTON P.O. BOX 23 SWANTON, NEBRASKA. 68445 AUGUST 14, 2023 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 14th day of August, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Runty called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by Runty, Strouf, Likens, Placek, and Bass. Alan Krupicka, Water Operator was present and Donna Rut, Village Clerk absent. Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. The claims, treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Bass and seconded by Placek to approve the treasurer’s report and minutes and to pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf moved to approve Cory Parks as a new member of the fire department, second by Likens. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf moved to not join SENND at this time. Likens second. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Krupicka discussed the new well progress and are waiting for a couple of tests to get back before it is drilled. The Village Attorney was discussed. Placek moved to have Clerk Rut contact Ben Murray, regarding the position and let Scott Gropp know about the change. Second by Likens. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Strouf moved to increase fireman’s life insurance to $20,000 per member. Placek second. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. A running at large dog complaint was discussed and three properties violating property ordinances were discussed. A letter will be written by the clerk. As there was no further business, a motion was made by Likens and seconded by Strouf to adjourn. Motion carried with all members present voting aye.
