Village of Swanton PO Box 23 Swanton, Nebraska 68445 August 10, 2026 The regular meeting of the Chairman and Board of Trustees of the Village of Swanton, Nebraska was held at the Fire Hall in Swanton, Nebraska on the 10th day of August, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. Present were: Vice Chairman Strouf, Trustees: Likens and Placek. Bass and Runty absent. Donna Rut, Village Clerk also attending the meeting. Notice of meeting was given in advance thereof by posting as required by law. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. The Open Meeting Laws are posted in the meeting room. A Saline County Deputy gave the monthly sheriff’s report. Bob Brolliar with the Jack Rabbits Community Club discussed the Historical Marker to be placed by the auditorium to commemorate Willard Schmidt. The claims, treasurer’s report, and minutes were presented. A motion was made by Likens and seconded by Placek to approve the treasurer’s report and minutes and pay all claims as presented. Motion carried with Strouf, Likens, and Placek voting aye. Bass and Runty absent. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to approve Pay App 6 from Judd Brothers for $52,002.25 pending USDA-RD approval. Motion carried with Strouf, Likens, and Placek voting aye. Bass and Runty absent. Resolution #2-2026: Change in water deposit rate was read. A motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to approve Resolution #2-2026. Motion carried with Strouf, Likens, and Placek voting aye. Bass and Runty absent. A motion was made by Likens and seconded by Placek to have Manning & Associates prepare the 2026-2027 budget. Motion carried with all members present voting aye. Bass and Runty absent. As there was no further business, a motion was made by Placek and seconded by Likens to adjourn.
