This is a synopsis of the Saline County Board of Commissioners’ May 9, 2023, regular meeting proceedings. A complete set of the proceedings along with an approved list of claims is on file in the Board of Commissioners’ Journal, is of public record in the Saline County Clerk’s office and on our website: www.co.saline.ne.us SALINE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The regular meeting of the Saline County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, by Chairperson Phil Hardenburger. Present were Hardenburger, Stephanie A. Krivohlavek, Marvin A. Kohout, Russ Karpisek and Janet J. Henning Commissioners, County Clerk Anita K. Bartels and County Attorney David C. Solheim. Notice of said meeting was posted in the County Clerk’s Office and published in all three county newspapers on May 3, 2023, in compliance with State Statutes; Hardenburger advised those present of the open meetings act at the back of the room and that all proceedings are electronically recorded; Approved the agenda as presented; Approved the minutes of the April 25, 2023 regular meeting; Under Citizens Forum, Jack Sukovaty, Susan Novak Kotas, Lyle Weber read an email from Russell Korinek, Jeff Koll, Lester Ralston, Hannes Zetzsche and Chuck McKay addressed the Board; Under Correspondence it was reported receiving from the City of Crete notice of their May 2nd City Council and Council Committee meetings; an email inquiry regarding interest in coordinating a hazardous waste collection by Red Willow County Waste Department; a request from Dustin Will @ Benefit Management to offer an evaluation of health & benefit programs; from EDF Renewables a donation of $1,000.00; and contact with Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department regarding wind turbine dBA levels; Under Report of Officials heard an explanation of the Nebraska Tax Equalization and Review Commission, Finds and Order Adjusting for Valuation Group 2 and Group 5; reports on meetings with Aging Services, Saline County Museum appraisal event, Employee Handbook Committee, Employee Recognition Committee, Planning & Zoning, Safety Committee, Insurance Committee, Ag Society, Extension Office, Drug Court Graduation and Hometown Housing; Approved the April 2023 Clerk Fees, $10,765.50; Approved the April 2023 Clerk of District Court Fees, $26,134.69; Approved the April 2023 Sheriff Fees, $2,799.05; At 10:09 a.m. the Board recessed; At 10:21 a.m. the Board reconvened; Approved to waive the three (3) reading requirement of Ordinance 2023-01; Approved Ordinance 2023-1; Approved Resolution #2023-24 transferring $6,000.00 from the Inheritance Fund to the Juvenile Services Aid Program, to be reimbursed when funds become available; Approved a request from Wayne M. Hansen Irrevocable Trust to occupy the right of way at NE4 29-8-3; Approved a request from Wayne M. Hansen Irrevocable Trust to occupy the right of way at SE4 29-8-3; Approved a request from Windstream to occupy the right of way at Road 2350 on OO Road; Approved the claims as presented; At 10:52 a.m. entered closed session to discuss a personnel matter; At 11:17 a.m. exited closed session; During closed session there as no action taken; There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:18 a.m. The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in the Saline County Commissioners’ Room, Court House, Wilber, NE.
