This is a synopsis of a special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Wilber. A complete copy of the proceedings, resolutions, contracts and ordinances are on file at the City Office, 110 W Third Street, Wilber, NE and are available for public inspection during regular business hours. PROCEEDINGS OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WILBER, NE 68465 June 1, 2022, 5:30 p.m. Council President opened the special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Present were Councilmembers, Allen Brozovsky, Tim Lempka, Kent Linhart and Randy Sasek. Also, present was City Treasurer Gail May, City Clerk Lori Rezny and City Superintendent Tim Krivohlavek. Absent was Mayor Chrans. The Council President stated that the open meetings act is posted in the meeting room and is available for public inspection. Roll call shows four Councilmembers are present. The Council President called for recognition of visitors. There were no visitors in attendance. The purposes of the meeting are approval of the claims for the pumper truck and swimming pool painting, discussion / action on City Health Insurance, Life AD&D, Long-Term Disability and other insurance options, and review / action on City Boundary map and narrative as determined by Miller & Associates. The meeting notice was posted in three places within the City on May 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Brozovsky moved and Linhart seconded to pay the invoice from Van’s Waterproofing for painting of the swimming pool in the amount of $12,120.00. Motion carried 4-0. Discussion was held on insurance options that are being offered thru the League Insurance Government Health Team (LIGHT) program created by the Nebraska League of Nebraska Municipalities. This year the health insurance option is being offered thru Blue Cross and Ancillary Benefit package is being offered thru Mutual of Omaha. After some discussion it was agreed to look over the information presented and after the agreements from the League are received and reviewed this item will be placed on the June 14, 2022, meeting agenda for consideration. The preliminary city boundary map as drafted by Miller & Associates was reviewed. Several questions were brought up, after which it was decided to contact the representative from Miller & Associates who is working with the City to ask if he could be available by phone at the June 14, 2022, meeting to discuss questions that were brought up.
