Susan Marie (Slama) Johnson, 43, passed away Jan. 7, 2021, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. 

Susan was born in Friend on July 16, 1977. She attended Evergreen School District 25 from grades K-4, then attended school in Wilber and graduated in 1995. She went on to graduate from Peru State College in May 1999, earning a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Susan married Gregg Johnson on Jan. 12, 2002, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilber. She was employed at Lincoln Financial Group as an Integrated Absence Claims Specialist. 

Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and crafting with her daughters. She always looked forward to family vacations, baking, building her career and going to the casinos. 

Susan is survived by her husband, Gregg Johnson; two daughters, Alexis and Graycee of Omaha; parents, Edward and Darlene Slama of Wilber; sister, Jaimie and her husband, Christopher Wasik of Summerville, South Carolina; brother, Edward JC Slama of Crete; sister, Cheri Slama and her husband Marcus Montoya of Wilber. Also, her sister, Christine McClucas of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania; mother-in-law, Diana Johnson of Waverly; and sister-in-law, Lori Krehnke of Davey.

Susan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles and cousins. Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Dick and Lil Oliver of Wilber; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Helen Slama of Crete; and father-in-law, Allen Johnson of Waverly.

A service was held in Omaha at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Jan. 16 and a Celebration of Life was held Jan. 17 at Sokol Hall in Wilber.
