RESOLUTION NO 2024-02 KENO LOTTERY QUESTION TO VOTERS WHEREAS, the Village of DeWitt submits to the registered voters the question of whether to establish and conduct a keno lottery within the Village and further to conduct such vote on the 2024 Primary ballot; WHEREAS, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 9-625 of the Nebraska County and City Lottery Act states that any Village may establish and conduct a lottery if an election is first held pursuant to this section. No Village shall establish and conduct a lottery until such course of action has been approved by a majority of the registered voters of such Village casting ballots on the issue at a regular election or a special election called by the governing Board of the Village for such purpose. WHEREAS, the Village of DeWitt submits to the registered voters the question with the following language: SHALL the Village of DeWitt establish and conduct a keno lottery as permitted under the Nebraska County and City Lottery Act for the purpose of community betterment as defined in the Act? Yes (For such Lottery) No (Against such Lottery) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Chairman and Governing Body of the Village of DeWitt that the above question be submitted to the registered voters on the 2024 Primary ballot regarding establishing and conducting a keno lottery within the Village of DeWitt.
