Raymond Paul McCay, age 85 of Clatonia, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
He was born to Hartwell and Alvina (Halverson) McCay in Steele, North Dakota, on April 16, 1941.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Buddy Peterson of Shelburne, New Hampshire, and Michelle and Todd Mulske of Wishek, North Dakota; son, Kevin McCay of Bismarck, North Dakota; grandchildren, Anthony, Todd, Jr., and Jessica Mulske of Wishek; step-son, Carl Mau of Lincoln; step-granddaughter, Brooklyn Young of Lincoln; and step-great-granddaughter, Navy Young of Lincoln; brother, Ben McCay of Pierce, Colorado; sister, Lorraine Berg of Bismarck, North Dakota; step-daughters, Tammy and Kip Buffington of Bennett; Christy and Jeff Shatser of North Port, Florida; Cally and Jared Ideus of Filley; Kathy and Jake Geier of North Port; and step-son, Mark Wade of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elizabeth; brothers, Tom and Ervin; brother-in-law, Leo Berg; and wife, Carol McCay.
There will be no viewing, as it was Raymond’s request to be cremated. A graveside service will be at the Clatonia cemetery on Friday, June 26, at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon at the Clatonia Community Center will Immediately follow the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
