Post 101 dominates in first game

The Wilber Post 101 senior team opened the 2025 season in dominant fashion, beating Wymore Diller-Odell 20-4 May 28.

After allowing a first-inning run, Wilber scored three in both the second and third innings and 14 in the fourth to end the game via the run rule.

Four Wilber batters had multiple hits in the game –Grayson Vlcan with three, Chase Tachovsky with three including a triple, Karsen Fisher with two and Allen Roger with two.

Tachovsky drove in four runs, and Vlcan and Roger added three RBIs each.

Wilber also stole 11 bases in the game, led by three by Ty Roesler.

Roger was the starting pitcher and struck out six in three innings. Tachovsky and Owen Smith pitched the final inning.

The seniors were scheduled to host Tri County June 4 at 8 p.m. and host a tournament Saturday, June 7. Game times had not been announced at press time.

The Post 101 juniors fell short to Wymore Diller-Odell 11-0 May 28 but beat Seward Reserve 15-0 May 30.

WDO pitching held Wilber to just one hit, a single by Aven Smith. While WDO hitters had just six hits in the game, Wilber pitchers walked nine.

Smith went 2-3 with a triple and drove in four in the win over Seward. Chase Peterson doubled and drove in three, and Collin Kohout had two RBIs.

Smith struck out five in two innings on the mound. RJ Klaassen finished the game with three strikeouts in two innings.

Wilber was set to host Tri County June 4 at 5:30 p.m. and then travel to Fairfield for a 6:30 p.m. game Monday, June 9. On Wednesday, June 11, the team heads to Beaver Crossing to play Utica-Beaver Crossing at 6:30 p.m.
