NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING I. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by Saline County Area Transit at 107 S. West Ave, Western, NE at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 for the purpose of considering a project for which financial assistance is being sought from the Federal Transit Administration, pursuant to the Federal Transit Act (FTA), generally described as follows: 1. Funding of capital expenditures to purchase one small bus and one lowered floor minivan. 2. The project serves the towns of Crete, DeWitt, Dorchester, Friend, Swanton, Tobias, Western, and Wilber providing portal to portal transportation to Lincoln, Geneva, Crete, Beatrice, and Fairbury. 3. Estimated cost of the project: Federal funds - $71,200; Local funds - $17,800. Saline County Area Transit will take into consideration the special needs of the elderly and/or persons with disabilities. Saline County Area Transit provides transportation service to the general public, age/income levels notwithstanding. II. At the hearing Saline County Area Transit will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be heard with respect to the social, economic, and environmental aspects of the project. Interested persons may submit, orally or in writing, evidence and recommendations with respect to said project. III. A copy of the Application for a Federal Grant for the proposed Project is available for public inspection at 107 S. West Avenue, Western, NE.
