Norman E. Fritz, age 84, of Wilber, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020. Norman was born on the family farm on April 1, 1936, to Edward and Rose (Vosika) Fritz in Saline County.

He graduated from Wilber High School in 1954. After high school, he studied carpentry at Milford Trade School. On Aug. 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Willa Deen Keller of Crete. After living a short time in Crete, Norman and Willa Dean returned to Norman’s family farmstead northwest of Wilber, where together they raised their three children. Norman, a lifelong farmer, was also an avid fisherman, skilled woodworker and beloved grandpa to seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Throughout his life, he was a member of the Wilber United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, the FFA Alumni and the Big Blue Bohemian Cemetery Board.

He is survived by his three children, daughter and son-in-law, Cheri and Robert Mager of Wilber, son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Susan (Vlasin) Fritz of Crete and daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Michael Chaloupka of Liberty, Mo.; special friend, Shirley Siedhoff; grandchildren, Jessica and Derrick Damrow, Brady and Blaine Jenschke, Matthew Fritz, Mitchell and Kristen Fritz, Abbey Chaloupka and Nathan Chaloupka; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willa Deen; his sister, Irma Pracheil; and grandson, Brian Mager.
