MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING AND DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Wattjes (7:17 pm), Weise and Workman Absent: Rahe Also present: Utility Superintendent Interim – Hunter Oliver, Clerk – Moria Holly, Saline County Deputy, and Tracy Berggren – Zito Media Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Public Hearing Opened at 7:00 PM The Village Clerk explained the 1 & 6 Year Plan submitted by Olsson & Associates. There were no major changes to the Village’s plan from the previous year. NO PUBLIC COMMENTS Public Hearing Closed at 7:03 PM Regular Meeting opened at 7:03 p.m. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda 2. Olsson & Associates – 1 & 6 Year Street Improvement Plan 3. Resolution 2023-08; Public Hearing Notice 4. Olsson & Associates – Work Orders (General Engineering & Street Superintendent) 5. Zito Media – Fiber Optic Cabinet Proposal 6. Resolution 2023-09; Authorize Membership to LIGHT 7. LIGHT Membership Agreement 8. Resolution 2023-10; Handicap Parking Spaces 9. Sealed Bids – Sale of Village Properties 10. Ordinance 787 – Sale of Village Properties Discussions: The Saline County Deputy presented to the Village Board their monthly reports. Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, discussed with the Village Board that the Fire Department is returning two vehicles to the Nebraska Forestry to make room for the new ambulance and that the Fire Department’s fundraising Soup Dinner will be held Sunday, October 8th. Utility Superintendent Interim, Hunter Oliver, addressed the Village Board regarding repairs to water mains, a possible collapsed storm sewer on the north side of town, and that they are in process of repairing/replacing several water meters within the Village. Clerk, Moria Holly, addressed the Board regarding sales tax, nuisance properties update, camper complaints update, pool bids update, possibly changing the hours of the compost site for next season; but it was agreed to leave the hours as they are currently, and changing the hours for the Village Office to Monday – Thursday 7am-4pm and Friday 7am – 11pm beginning October 30th; and the Village Board had no issues with changing the office hours. Adjournment at 8:01 P.M. with no further business, all in favor.
