MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD Special Meeting held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Weise and Workman. Absent - Wattjes Also present: Clerk – Moria Holly, Bruce Vitosh and Michelle Junker with Norris Public Power Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1.Mid-West Tent Quote Discussions: The Village Board met with Bruce Vitosh and Michelle Junker with Norris Public Power to discuss their analysis regarding the option of Norris leasing the Village of DeWitt’s electrical system. It was explained that Norris would be responsible for the electric system while the Village would still own the system. Items discussed were the financial impact on the Village and some benefits of Norris leasing said system would be that Norris would be responsible for the reliability, liability, and all maintenance and/or repairs of the system. Norris would also take over tree trimming, outages and billing for the electric system. After concluding the presentation from Norris, the Village Board agreed to discuss this matter further at the regularly scheduled May Board Meeting. The Village Board also discussed and reviewed the applications submitted for the Utility Superintendent and Water/Wastewater Operator positions. After careful consideration, the Board agreed to interview for the Utility Superintendent position and postpone hiring for the Water/Wastewater Operator position to allow adequate time to hire and train a new Utility Superintendent.
