Minutes of the DeWitt Village Board Regular Meeting held Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Zachary Schuerman, and Village Clerk – Moria Holly Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Alicia McCune – issue postponed until a later date. 3. 2026 – 2027 Tax Levy; motion and second to approve to set the property tax at $165,100.00, a 7.61% increase, with the tax levy staying the same at the rate of 0.447702. 4. Farm Ground Bids; motion and second to award the lease to Mark Stokebrand for $551.50 per year for three years. 5. Judds Bros – Change Order #2; Portable Generator – motion and second to approve Change Order #2 as submitted. 6. Apex Integrations Estimate – Office Computer and Camera Monitor; motion and second to approve the estimate as submitted. Discussions: Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, stated there are still issues with Fire Hall roof leaking and that the Fire Department is in the process of burning two properties. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, presented his report for the Village Board consisting of the water meters are waiting for State approval for funding, State mandated PFA testing, updates for the Wastewater Treatment Plant project, update regarding the items required by the State from the floodplain audit, getting estimates to clean out several drainage ditches, and that the dugout and pool painting will be done soon. Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented her Clerk Report consisting of the 2026 pool season financial report, donating unclaimed bicycle at the office, benches for the Community Center, setting a kickoff meeting date for the Community Center study, sales tax funds, keno funds and the Norris lease payment collected, the upcoming Budget and Street 1 & 6 Year Plan hearings.
