MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Kyle Meers, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, Park Board – Bobbie Scherling and Ray Brown, and Saline County Deputy Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Remmers Estimate – Concession Stand Painting; motion and second to approve estimate as submitted. 3. Park Board – Pool Wages and Admissions; motion and second to increase lifeguard wages and pool admission as recommended by the Park Board. 4. Summer Help; agree to hire one part-time summer help as requested by the Utility Superintendent. 5. Resolution 2025-02 – Highway Closure (DeWitt Days); motion and second to approve and adopt Resolution 2025-02. 6. Al’s Johns Estimate – Portable Toilets (DeWitt Days); motion and second to approve estimate as submitted. 7. Mid-West Tents – Tent Rental (DeWitt Days); motion and second to approve estimate as submitted, motion was denied. 8. Plymouth Electric Estimate – Power to Batting Cage; motion and second to approve estimate as submitted. 9. Holly’s Home Improvements Estimates – agree to postpone Bus Barn Metal and obtain estimate for chain-link fence versus privacy fence. 10.Saline County MFO Agreement – Review and Approval; motion and second to approve and sign the Agreement as submitted. 11. Ordinance 796 – Salaries and Wages 2025; motion and second to approve and adopt Ordinance 796. 12. Ordinance 797 – Amendment to Creating Floodway and Flood Fringe Districts Ordinance; motion and second to approve and adopt Ordinance 797. 13. Employee Concerns/Review; issue was left to the employees to resolve. Discussions: The Saline County Deputy presented their monthly call report and stated that everything was going well within the Village. The Village Board did discuss an issue of running the stop sign at Fillmore and Quince. Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, stated that the remodel is done at the Fire Hall and thanked the Village Board for their help with financing the same. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, presented to the Village Board his monthly report regarding looking into new picnic tables, test results from Sargent’s well tests, the cure in place sewer main repairs will begin the week of May 12th. The Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented to the Village Board a Clerk report consisting new Complain Form, need for Planning and Zoning Commission members, Rabies Clinic, empty lot options, nuisance properties, and sales tax received.
