MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD Regular Meeting held Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Village Clerk – Moria Holly, Senior Center Director – Melissa Larmeu, Gabby Mason and Elise Edgar with AFLAC Insurance, Ball Board – Jason Pohlmann and Scott Shepler, Russell and Sara Birkett Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Senior Center – Updates/Improvements; motion and second to approve increase in financial support to help offset increased meal costs. 3. Park Board – Pool Improvements; issue tabled until a later meeting date. 4. Ball Board – 2025 Season; discussions regarding improvements needed at the ballfield. Motion and second to grant financial assistance for gravel project at ball field. 5. AFLAC Insurance – STD Quote; motion and second to approve the quote as submitted, with additional benefits being at employees’ discretion and cost. Discussions: Russell and Sara Birkett discussed with the Village Board their desire to vacate/purchase the alley beside their property. This alley is essentially their driveway and they would like to retain possession of the same for maintenance and improvements with a utility easement. Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, stated the improvements at the Fire Hall are almost completed. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, was unable to attend the meeting, but did submit a written report to the Village Board consisting of ball park improvements, water main break, wastewater treatment plant issues, and summer help. The Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented to the Village Board a Clerk report consisting of Mihm property demolition update, TVNR Program update, WWTP Project ad for bids, upcoming Clerk School, and the Village annual employee party. Adjournment at 8:24 P.M. with no further business, all in favor.
