MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, Weise and Workman Absent: None Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, Park Board – Bobbie Scherling, Alicia McCune and Saline County Deputy Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Park Board – Pool and Lifeguard Wages; motion and second to approve increase for Lifeguard wages. 3. Park Board – Batting Cage Additional Costs; motion and second to approve additional costs for concrete and the shed for the batting cage. 4. Ordinance 798 – Salaries and Wages 2025; motion and second to approve and adopt Ordinance 798. 5. Pool – Pool Vacuum Estimate; motion and second to approve purchase a new pool vacuum. 6. Holly’s Home Improvements Estimate – Pool Fence; motion and second to approve estimate as submitted. 7. LIGHT – Health and Dental Insurance Renewal; motion and second to approve the renewal for health and dental insurance through the LIGHT program. 8. Civic Board – Midwest Fireworks; motion and second to approve the contract and requested financial support. 9. UES Estimate – Materials Testing Services; motion and second to approve the estimate as submitted. Discussions: The Saline County Deputy presented their monthly call report and stated that everything was going well within the Village. Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, stated that Blue Valley Public Safety has done maintenance on the west tornado siren and is continuing ongoing repairs to the east tornado siren. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, presented to the Village Board his monthly report regarding the cure in place sewer main repairs have been completed, pool and park repairs are still ongoing but the swimming pool is open, and that the summer help hired is doing very well in his position. The Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented to the Village Board a Clerk report consisting of the BNSF subpoena, DeWitt Days parade participation, new boardroom chairs, Utility Maintenance applications received and setting up interviews, as well as, sales tax received.
