Minutes of the DeWitt Village Board Regular Meeting held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler and Workman Absent: Weise Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Zachary Schuerman, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, and Senior Center Director – Melissa Larmeu Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1 Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2 Senior Center – Event Funding; motion and second to approve funding Wildlife Encounters of Nebraska program. 3 JEO – Community Center Study Agreement; motion and second to approve the Agreement as submitted. 4 JEO – Judds Bros Pay Application #11 (revised); motion and second to approve and sign the pay application. 5 JEO – Judds Bros Pay Application #12; motion and second to approve and sign the pay application. Executive Session at 7:17 p.m. to discuss Tort Claims submitted, Executive Session ended at 7:24 p.m. 6 Sewer Backup Issue; motion and second to forward claims to Village insurance carrier. Discussions: Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, presented his report for the Village Board consisting of no water main breaks, water meters estimate has been received, future curb stop repairs, updates regarding the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvements, the street sweeper is repaired, the Village truck hail claim is complete and will be scheduled for repairs, completion of floodplain issues, the pool is operating well, and the slide at the ballfield will be installed this week. Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented her Clerk Report consisting of updates regarding the Study grant, move in/out report, sales tax funds and keno funds collected, update from Judds Bros regarding sewer backup issue, and awaiting update regarding Village litigations.
