MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Weise and Workman Absent: Rentschler Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Village Clerk – Moria Holly, Jason Pohlmann, Craig Vyhnalek with Vyhnalek Insurance, and Liz Poessnecker with the Library Board Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Vyhnalek Insurance – Village and Fire Department Insurance Renewal; automatic renewal, no formal action. 3. Salaries and Wages 2026 – Library/Village; motion and second to increase Library wages. Executive Session to discuss employee salaries and wages; no formal action. 4. Review/Approve Wastewater Improvements Group A – Judds Bros Pay Application #5 and #6; motion and second to approve Judds Bros Pay Application #5 and #6. 5. Ordinance 802 – Salaries and Wages 2026; motion and second to approve and adopt Ordinance 802. Discussions: Jason Pohlmann with the local Ball Board addressed the Village Board regarding improvements and updates for the ball fields. He was inquiring about help from the Village’s summer employee regarding chalking and grading the field before games, the fence repair at the North field, and the dugout at the main ball field. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, stated that he does have someone lined up to paint or stain the dugouts this spring and there was also discussion about concreting the dugouts at the North filed. Fire Chief, Shawn Weise, stated that calls were minimal in December and that some repairs were completed on the pumper truck. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, discussed with the Village Board that the Wastewater Treatment Plant work continues, discussed repairs to Well #3 and that grant funds for those repairs are being filed for, water meter replacing will begin next week, and that he plans on selling some Village equipment that is no longer needed. Hunter stated that he would like to sell the orange pick up by sealed bids, and the spreader, honey wagon and old red garbage totes on Purple Wave, an auction company. Village Clerk, Moria Holly, presented her Clerk Report consisting of proposed grant ideas, move in/out report, and sales tax collected.
