MINUTES OF THE DEWITT VILLAGE BOARD REGULAR MEETING held Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Village Office, 209 E. Fillmore Ave, DeWitt, NE. Roll Call: Present: Chairman Fink, Trustees Rahe, Rentschler, and Weise Absent: Workman Also present: Utility Superintendent – Hunter Oliver, Utility Maintenance – Kyle Meers, Saline County Deputy, Bobbie Scherling, Ray Brown, Cari Buss, Joan Tietjen, and Craig Vyhnalek with Vyhnalek Insurance Chairman Fink announced that a copy of the Open Meetings Act is posted in the meeting room and is accessible to members of the public. Received and placed on file the notices of the meeting. Motions approved by unanimous roll call vote: 1. Consent Agenda; motion and second to approve the items in the consent agenda. 2. Senior Center – Updates/Improvements; postponed until a future Board meeting. 3. Park Board – Pool and Park Updates/Improvements; discussions between Park Board and Village Board regarding pool and park equipment needed and the Park Board’s responsibilities and expectations. 4. TMCO Quote – Lifeguard Stand Repair; motion and second to approve the quote as submitted. 5. Vyhnalek Insurance – Work Comp Insurance; Craig Vyhnalek discussed that the Village’s new Work Comp carrier and the Village’s and Fire Department’s liability and property insurance renewal. 6. Resolution 2025.01 – TVNR Program; motion and second to adopt Resolution 2025-01 regarding the TVNR feral cat program. 7. Fire Department – Kitchen and Bathroom Updates/Improvements; motion and second for the Village to fund $20,000.00 of estimated improvements. Discussions: Saline County Deputy presented to the Village Board their monthly report. Joan Tietjen with the Burkley Library attended the meeting to present to the Village Board the Library’s 2024 annual report and to inform the Village Board that Linda Schuerman is no longer on the Library Board and has been replaced by Ashton Wollenburg. Utility Superintendent, Hunter Oliver, informed the Village Board of sewer main repairs, compost site update, trash totes have been picked up, and an accident involving a street light. The Village Clerk, Moria Holly, was absent from the meeting but did present to the Village Board a Clerk report consisting of Mihm property demolition update, sales tax, and the Village annual employee party. Adjournment at 8:10 P.M. with no further business, all in favor.
